We offer English Primary Language HG / Home Language and English First Additional Language. Our excellent grade 12 results can be attributed to TEAMWORK.

There are two educators in charge of the English Primary Language education. More than a third of the learners at Nico Malan High School take English as first language.

The English Primary Language department endeavors to present the language in an interesting and innovative way thereby stimulating the learners' love of the language and the imminence wealth of English literature.

In grades 8 and 9 LLC (Language, Literature and Communications) is presented according to the outcomes based education guidelines yet the academic standard is upheld in order to prepare them for FET (Further education and training) as is presented in grades 10, 11 and 12. The transition from OBE to FET is therefore a painless and stress free experience.
